We were able to pick the mind of Mr. Barry Drooger aka Frontliner with some questions we gathered from our Facebook and Twitter Fam. Here is what he had to say:
Well, in some cases yes. But sometimes its so right in front of us we can’t deny selling out fits right in that situation.
Yes! Well, I still not believe I ‘made’ it as I still not have figured out what that means to me. But I can remember the first time I played at Defqon.1 at the blue stage in 2007. I had to start and the tent was not empty, such a relief! Or when I went to Vancouver last year, having to play right after Dash Berlin with a massive syncshow. The crowd was going crazy for him and then I had to go up, straight to 150bpm cause I just don’t have anything in between. The crowd was going crazy and I even ended up playing my hardcore edit of I’m The Melodyman. And a bit more relevant: Once your USA working visa is approved champagne bottles will pop.. What a hazzle!
I hate to let people down in general, I had to let Scantraxx down and of course that felt personal but in the end, the freedom it gave me was exactly what I needed to develop myself
There are so many, some big events that suddenly have the wow factor on top of already being amazing (Q-Base 2012) or my first gig in Japan and Korea this year. My tour in Australia in March was 11 days of pure performing excitement. Too much to just call out one.
Well, I first need to put on a fresh T-shirt and then I like to go into the crowd, have some chats with fans etc. Just having fun by seeing people happy 😀
It would be a festival, on a really cool place, maybe Iceland? It would be different from others since I’ve always wanted to do a 4hour live act, I have produced 100 tracks already so that would easily be possible, I’m saving that for a special occasion!
That question is a bit unfair since I have to perform with a MC next to every week. I’m actually considering ditching them all together, I just love music and I do not like people screaming their way through it. Other than that there are so many MC’s that do such an amazing job in getting the crowd to go crazy, I just don’t feel my music calls for that. I already have my focus on keeping my arrangements interesting in my tracks, so much is going on! When I perform on stage I jump the booth, go crazy with the crowd, I’m famous for hitting camera operators with my insane arm movement, there is already so much going on when I’m onstage.. Maybe sometimes less is more.
